The work I didn’t know I needed, by Estelle Thomas

'In our fast-paced, success-driven world, we’re never taught to build a relationship with ourselves. Schools don’t teach emotional awareness. No one sits us down to explain what a feeling is, let alone how to move through it. We’re taught to achieve, to produce, to compare. I fell into that trap too, chasing happiness in the ‘next’ thing: the next goal, the next plan, the next fix.

But the Hoffman Process reminded me that the most important relationship I’ll ever have is the one with myself. That’s the one that grounds every other part of life. Through this work, I’ve discovered a strength that doesn’t come from shutting down, but from softening, opening, and allowing... I used to roll my eyes when people used the word authenticity; it sounded like a buzzword. But I now understand what it really means: living in alignment with what’s true inside you. Living without regrets. Listening to your inner wisdom before it gets drowned out by the noise of the world.

The Process gave me tools that are not only profound, but practical. It’s not just ideas, it’s techniques you can use every day to ground yourself, centre yourself, and re-choose your path.'

Made in Hong Kong: new book from Hoffman graduate Laura

'In 1960s Hong Kong, a ten-week-old baby is placed in an orphanage by her mother. Adopted by a British couple and raised in England, she is renamed, re-rooted and rejected - and expected to forget. But Laura Tan never forgot'.

When we interviewed therapist, writer and Hoffman graduate Laura in 2024, she was busy working on Made in Hong Kong, the story of her search for belonging 'across decades and continents'. We're delighted to share that the finished book is now available to order in paperback and for Kindle.

Laura says;

'The Hoffman Process was central to my journey. Before I did it, my writing carried a lot of blame and raw hurt. The Process helped me move towards forgiveness, resolution, and balance — and that shift is written into every page. The book also directly references my time at Hoffman and its impact on my life... I’m so grateful for what the Process gave me, and I’d love to share the book with anyone here who feels called to read it.'

New for 2026: The Hoffman Process in South Africa

The Hoffman Process operates worldwide under the umbrella of Hoffman Institute International, founded by Bob Hoffman in 1991. Now a new International centre has joined the ranks, as we warmly welcome Hoffman Institute South Africa, newly launched by Hoffman graduate Markus Bihler (pictured).

From February 2026, Processes will take place at Mont Fleur Conference Venue - a purpose-built retreat location in the heart of the Stellenbosch wine region, approximately 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.

A team of Hoffman facilitators from around the world - including Hoffman UK Managing Director Serena Gordon and other members of the UK facilitator team - will ensure that it's the same high-quality, seven-day Process experience delivered at any of the other 14 Hoffman centres around the globe.
