"One generation plants the trees under whose cool shade another generation takes its ease."
Chinese Proverb

In an article out this month in April's Easy Living magazine, author Lesley Garner describes the Process as:
'An intense and prolonged healing of family wounds....Gradually, participants come to a deep understanding - and forgiveness - of what made their families the way they were and the impact this has had on them.'

Is the Hoffman Process for you?
So many people tell us that Information Evenings are really helpful in deciding whether the Process is for them; yet London may not be convenient for you. So, starting this month, we're offering monthly phone-ins. Call in from wherever you are in the world and join UK Hoffman Director Serena Laurence, pictured here, from 7.30 - 8.30pm BST for our April Information phone-in. Serena, together with Hoffman Teachers and probably some previous Process participants, will cover such questions as:

  • How can you tell if the Process is right for you?
  • What changes can you expect following the course?
  • How can it help relationships and parenthood?
  • What are the long-term benefits?
  • You can just listen in or, if you have a question, we'll be delighted to help. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about the call.

Can't make this date? Next call is Tuesday May 5th 7.30 - 8.30pm

April 20th-26th is Depression Awareness Week supported by the Depression Alliance - you can support their work here: Depression Alliance.

Derek Draper, a Hoffman Graduate who has been affected by depression, has done much to bring it into public awareness. In 2007, MIND, a major UK mental health charity presented Derek with their Journalist of the Year award. He's pictured here with, amongst others, Stephen Fry, who has also done so much to help banish the stigma of Mental Health.

Derek's new book Life Support: A Survival Guide for the Modern Soul is out this month. When asked how the Process influenced him Derek replied:

Hoffman graduates will recognise that much within it was inspired by my own time on the Process nearly a decade ago. But it also draws on what I've learnt as a psychotherapist. Psychotherapy helps thousands of people to feel happier, achieve more success and enjoy better relationships. But not everyone can - or wants to - be in therapy. To help them the book provides dozens of tips and tools that are available to use right now. I hope it will be a good resource for Hoffman graduates, helping tackle negative patterns. If you do read it, let me know what you made of it!
Email Derek Draper. Click the cover for more.

Derek has also recently been interviewed by the Daily Mail with fellow Hoffman Graduate, author and psychologist, Oliver James. You can read their very different views on the link below - see what you think!

A Chance to Experience the Process Perspective
If you'd like to find out more about the Process and get a flavour of the tools and techniques, then this is the evening for you. The first hour led by Hoffman Teachers is a short presentation of the Process and a chance to ask any questions you have. Previous Process participants will also be there to share their experiences with you, if you wish.

If you'd like to stay a little longer you'll have a chance to experience the Process approach so that hopefully you'll take home a few insights too!

    Date: Thursday 23rd April
    Venue: Cornerstone Community Centre,
The Café Room, Church Road, Hove, East Sussex BN3 2FL
    Time: 7.30pm for 7.45pm until 9.15pm
Admission Free - no need to book.

If you're a Hoffman Graduate we'd be so delighted to see you and to hear how you've been getting on since your Process. Sharing your experience can be so helpful for those who are still undecided.
