You know how unpredictable the weather can be at this time of year?
One minute glorious sunshine, the next torrential rain? Well, these sudden changes can happen to us emotionally as well. Just when you think everything is going well, something comes out of left field and knocks you off course.
On the Process we learn tools and techniques to help us manage the unpredictable. Emotional awareness is a huge step in recognising the difference between an old knee jerk response and a new conscious unpatterned way of being. But as with many things, it takes practice!
In our new Hoffman magazine out this month, there are wonderful stories from Hoffman graduates about overcoming adversity and using Hoffman tools to bring creativity, opportunity and healing to their lives.
We also hear from Hoffman graduate and Times journalist Rachel Kelly who has written about her sudden descent into depression, the impact that it had on her family and extraordinary healing that came about through her discovery of poetry. She has just published a book of poetry and you can read her remarkable story below.
If you'd like to experience some of the Process techniques first hand, join our experiential Introduction Day on Saturday May 10 or come to our Introduction Evening on Tuesday May 20. You'll be able to speak to people who have done the course as well as meet some of the Hoffman facilitators who will be glad to answer your questions. If you're interested in relationship work, then you can also book on our spring Relationship Workshops for individuals and couples.
If you're a Hoffman graduate and interested in re-experiencing the Process you have an opportunity to join our first Graduate-Only Process - July 5 - 11. We also have a Support Call - Wednesday May 21 on Lust For Life.
Wishing you a creative month full of new opportunities

Hoffman Article - by Times journalist Rachel Kelly Back to Top
|
In 1997 Times journalist and working mother Rachel Kelly descended with shocking suddenness from a state of mild anxiety into a state of disabling depression. Over the next six years she gradually began to recover but was then hit by another bout of depression even worse than the first. This is her inspiring story of recovery which she is sharing in the hope of helping others.
'I wasn't aware that depression could happen so suddenly, and to someone who was so content with her life. My husband and I were happily married and ambitious. I loved my career and even relished the bustle of it: taking pride in having six pieces of writing on the go at once; always being ready with an idea for a new article rather than being satisfied with what I had achieved. I had no idea what qualified me for a mental illness associated with unhappiness, and the surprising physical agony that I was to suffer every minute of being awake.
With the love of my family, medication and the consolation of snippets of poetry, I began to feel better. I returned to working full-time until I became pregnant with our third child. Years passed, two more children arrived, and my anxiety levels remained high: I was pushing myself to be the best mother and wife I could be, while still feeling I should work. Then I had another depressive episode even worse than the first. .... ' Read this interview... or Read other archived articles

Have you ever wished that you could do the Process again?
For many years, we've heard previous participants tell us, 'I loved the Process - and now my life has changed, I'd really like to do it again.' Well, this July we are giving you the opportunity to join us on our refined 7-day Process held exclusively for Hoffman graduates.
Our 2014 Graduate only Process will be held at our popular venue Florence House in Seaford, East Sussex. The Process starts on Saturday and ends the following Friday, allowing you to take one less day from work or from your family.
'I did the Process in my 20s. It was so valuable. Now that I'm 42, I have such a different perspective on life. I became a parent, I've been married for 10 years, I'm ready to look at things I couldn't look at the age of 22, because I hadn't experienced them yet.' Hoffman graduate 2014 USA
There will be only 24 places available, and we expect these to go quickly.

Are you missing the Hoffman connection?
The Q2 allows you to build upon your Process work, providing an opportunity to explore some of the areas that you wish to investigate further. It enables you to focus on a particular relationship or challenge as well as deepening your Process experience.
Unlike the Process, where you have much to deal with, the Q2 gives you the gift of focusing on the present and how patterns are affecting you now. Remember that you can do the Q2 with partners, friends, siblings or Process buddies and the preparatory work can be done in your lunch break! There are a few places left, so book soon if you'd like to join us.
