Hoffman e-newsletter | May 2020
In these extraordinary times we are all having to re-adjust to our new environments. 'Speaking up' is a challenge that most of us find ourselves struggling with at some point in our lives, whether with partners, family, friends or at work. Avoiding conflict can often seem safer or easier than voicing our concerns, but in fact, all our silence achieves is to increase our own discomfort.

Business consultant and resilience coach Karen Downes is passionate about the positive effects of what she calls ‘courageous conversations' when there are things crying out to be said.

'I f we don’t say anything, the damage to our self-worth and sense of personal dignity can be unbearable and in turn, harmful to our personal relationships... I believe it’s the conversations people don’t have, as opposed to the ones they do have, that can cause the most damage...'

Along with her Process Story on our website, Hoffman graduate Karen has kindly shared Six Steps to a Courageous Conversation, many of which seem increasingly timely as we're all thrown together in new and challenging ways.

All are welcome at our new fortnightly  Introduction to Hoffman  Zoom sessions, led by Hoffman MD Serena Gordon (pictured). A bit like our Information Evenings and Phone-Ins combined, they'll be informal in tone, and there's no need to give even your name. You can take part on a computer or phone, and use Zoom's chat function if you'd rather not speak.

If you’d like to find out more about the Process and get a sense of whether it might be for you, this free one-hour session will provide the perfect introduction. There'll be some background to Hoffman and a space for Q&A, as well as the chance to meet people who have done the Process.

Time: 7:30pm-8:30pm (UK time). Log in from 7.15pm
Platform: Zoom

To register, simply email enrolment@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk and we'll send you full instructions and the meeting ID.
Have you found yourself overwhelmed recently? Juggling work, homeschooling, housekeeping, and maybe even conflict in your household during these locked-down times?

Join Supervising Hoffman facilitator Eliza Meredith and psychotherapist and parenting coach Michelle Matthews for a free 90 minute webinar on Wednesday 13 May. Hoffman tools, combined with the 3 R’s - Rhythm, Regulation and Respect - will help you navigate these wild waters and bring reconnection, perspective and joy back to parenting (or at least moments of it!) This webinar covers children from birth to 12 years old and is open to both Hoffman graduates and non graduates.

Time: 7:30pm-9.00pm (UK time). Log in from 7.15pm
Platform: Zoom

For more information and how to register, click here.
We're very grateful to Supervising Hoffman facilitator Eliza Merdith for recording an updated version of our popular  Sleep Visualisation.

Let go of the worries of the day, and allow yourself to be lulled into a deep, restful, sleep… This deeply relaxing visualisation lasts for just over 16 minutes. (Please don't listen to it while driving!)

One-to-one consultation calls: is the Process for you?
We may be working remotely, but the Hoffman enrolment team is still available on the phone or via email , and happy to answer any questions you might have about the Process.

A one-to-one assessment call gives you time to discuss what happens on the course in detail, and also to decide whether it's right for you at this time. If you do then go on to register, you're already a step ahead!

The calls are completely confidential, and you don't need to have registered for a course to book a slot. Simply email enrolment@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk with a couple of dates and times that would work for you, and we'll take it from there.
Imagine being able to face new beginnings as a new version of yourself...

We're still open for bookings for the rest of the year and it can be helpful to give yourself plenty of time to really prepare for the Hoffman Process.

You can register online for any Hoffman Process that has availability by clicking the orange link and paying a £500 deposit. Our enrolment team will contact you, and if it turns out that the Process isn't right for you at this time - or it's postponed due to circumstances beyond our control - we'll refund your deposit in full.
