"I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings. My wisdom flows from the Highest Source. I salute that Source in you. Let us work together for unity and love."
Mahatma Ghandi

One of the most important skills to increase the quality of our relationships and therefore our depth of intimacy and happiness, is authentic communication. This month Anni Townend, a business psychologist, author of Assertiveness and Diversity and one of our Hoffman Graduate Support Team shares her top communication tips.
  • Own your Communication
Practice beginning sentences with 'I think'; 'I feel'; 'I imagine'; 'I wonder if'. Self-responsibility rules!
  • Appreciation
Practice giving more positive feedback to people - 'I really appreciated your'; 'I really like it when you'.
And the great thing is that the more positive feedback you give the more you will receive!
  • Be Curious
Practice asking more open questions, those that begin: 'What did you think when' 'How did you feel when'.
And the great thing is that the more curiosity you show towards others the more interested they'll be in you!
  • Listen In
Practice listening to yourself more, listening to your intuition helps slow you down so that you trust yourself more.
And the great thing about this is that the more you listen to your intuition the more connected you will feel to others and really be able to hear them!
  • Breathe into Now
Practice breathing - we do it all the time, however taking time to notice your breathing relaxes the body, focuses the mind, and increases emotional well-being at the same time as connecting us all to our essential humanity and spirit.
And the great thing about this is that focusing on your breathing helps bring your awareness into the present - and the more present you are to yourself, the more present you will be to others!
  • Anni is co-leading an Authentic Woman workshop at Florence House, East Sussex next month.

Our Hoffman Graduate Business Listing is now sporting a new look to match the website. This is a way for Hoffman Graduates to connect through the world of work. So if you'd like a dentist who treats the whole you or a safari leader who'll take you for a walk on the wild side this is a great place to look.

The listing has a couple of new entries this month including a Hoffman Graduate who will test your vision (physically speaking!) and a very solicitous solicitor.

Special Offer for Hoffman Graduates: Normally £50 for a year, we have an offer of £35 until November 30th for both renewals and new advertisers. If you'd like to advertise your own services, just click the link below where you'll find an entry form and online payment facility.

Following the great popularity of this with Hoffman Graduates in the States, our UK Teachers are now offering Phone Support Groups. Advertised in the October newsletter as starting on November 5th, PLEASE NOTE that this is now starting on Thursday November 13th.

These calls will be one hour support groups led by Hoffman Teacher, Esme Page. Fun and interactive, they're an opportunity for connection and for applying the tools in the potentially stressful pre-Xmas run-up. With a maximum of 12 graduates on each call please book early to ensure your place. Upcoming calls are:

November 13th: pre-cycling in readiness for those apparently predictable stressful situations as our calendar and to-do list begins to fill - re-write your pre- Xmas script!
December 3rd: transference in advance of family reunions
January 7th: creating my vision for the year ahead

    Booking is Essential
Booking onto the calls is possible up to 24 hours beforehand using the link below. After that the call is closed. All details of dates and how to pay are on the Hoffman Graduate support site.

So please book your place for this month's support call by Wednesday November 12th

It offers a chance to see your own progress and set new goals.

You're welcome to go either with your Process buddies or family members who have done the Process or to go alone and make new friends with like-minded people.

One of the titles on our books page is Getting the Love you Want on which Imago Couples Therapy is based. Hoffman Graduate and Imago Relationship psychotherapist Sabine Young has given us her top five tips this month for keeping the sparkle in your relationship during the cold winter months. Here are the first two - click below for the full list.

  • What if you could have the relationship of your dreams?
Bring some romance back into your relationship. On a regular basis, add 1% more romance than you currently have; it will make a huge difference over time. Create a relationship vision together. Have a relationship by design rather than chance. Energy follows attention. The minute you begin to create the vision, you'll move towards it. Write it as if you're living it now.

  • What if you could look to make your relationship right, instead of looking for the right relationship?
Take ownership of your 50% of what is not working in your relationship. That way you can begin to change your contributions and as a result the relationship will change.

As a therapist I see many people before and after participating in the Hoffman Process. The most common response is that it has changed their life; that they don't feel they will ever be quite the same again. They describe it as a unique, magical and loving rollercoaster ride which takes them to depths they could never have imagined. The most common long-term benefit they report is the discovery of a deep connection to their spiritual wisdom which has become a new resource they can rely on. Sabine Young. M.A.

  • Hoffman Teachers Donna Lancaster and Mairi Russell will be in Jersey for the New Year hosting an Information Evening on Thursday 8th January 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Jersey Museum.

Jersey Gets a Super Graduate Day!
    Saturday 10th January, 9.30 for 10.00pm start until 5.30pm.
