Relationship coach and author John Campbell did the Hoffman Process in the year 2000. We caught up with John to talk about his upcoming book, Miracle Relationships: A Path to Freedom and Joy, in which he kindly talks about the Process as part of an ongoing journey of self-discovery:
'After this incredibly tough seven days, I found a place of total acceptance and self-love; and forgiveness and compassion for both of my parents. The most powerful experience, though, was this feeling of total balance between them. I experienced them both as equal, with one not a fraction better or worse than the other.
This had an amazingly powerful positive effect on my life. It was only the start of my healing, but at least I no longer felt any male/female difference at a deep level and had healed this imbalance within me. Gradually, I noticed I no longer made any inappropriate gender difference comments like, ‘Women do this,’ or, ‘Men do that,’ and became increasingly sensitive to generalisations of that type from others. I had healed most of my male/female separation issues'.
John's book is released on 27 October (pre-orders now welcome). The link to find out more and to order is here

Oscar-nominated actress Naomie Harris is well known for her roles as Moneypenny in three James Bond films, Paula in Moonlight and Tia Dalma in Pirates of the Caribbean. Naomie did the Hoffman Process in 2015, and mentioned her experience in an interview with the TheTimes last weekend. You can read an excerpt from the interview below, or click here to read the full article (you may be asked to register by The Times).
“The Hoffman Process is absolutely amazing. My closest friends always say, “There’s Naomie pre and post-Hoffman [a personal development course]”. Before, I couldn’t run very fast or far because of the scoliosis. I would get to a mile and then stop. Then I did the Hoffman Process and I ran five miles just like that. I thought not being able to run was a physical thing, but it was because of the emotional baggage I was carrying.”

Writer, author, brand consultant & TV presenter Michelle Ogundehin is internationally renowned as an authority on interiors, trends, wellbeing and style. She's also celebrating her tenth anniversary of being a Hoffman grad. We'd like to thank Michelle for mentioning Hoffman in her recent blog post 'Self-care vs self-pity'. Here's a taster;
'Self-pity means seeking validation for your negative feelings and handing over responsibility for your pain to anyone who’ll take it. It’s the friend who moans on about something without doing anything to change her situation. It’s the ‘poor me’ school of thought, where you’re the victim waiting for someone to come and rescue you. It often features blame and can spring from feelings of fear, envy, hatred, or anger. Getting sympathy encourages us to feel our rage and hurt is justified.
Self-care on the other hand means taking positive steps to look after yourself, emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually (what Hoffman called the Quadrinity framework — the four aspects of self). Self-care is about paying attention to your needs; rescuing yourself by digging into your inner resources of creativity...'

Looking for love can be a vulnerable and testing experience. Expectations – family, social, and our own – can conspire to spin us into a vicious cycle of shame-beliefs, fears and repeating negative patterns. But it doesn’t have to be this way. By examining and challenging those patterns in a compassionate light, we can improve our understanding of why we make the choices we do, and break through to a future in tune with our heart’s truest desires.
Our one-day workshop Heart of Relationships paves the way to enjoying relationships rich in intimacy, trust, optimism and fulfilment. Facilitated by Matthew and Emma Pruen (pictured), it's open to anyone of any age, gender or orientation, with or without prior knowledge of the Hoffman tools. Come on your own, with a friend, partner or Hoffman buddy.
Date: Saturday 18 November
Venue: St Luke’s, Islington
Led by: Hoffman UK facilitator Matthew Pruen and Family & Systemic Constellations coach Emma Pruen.
Times: 9.15am for a 9.30am start. We’ll finish at 5.00pm.
Cost: £200 per person

"I would thoroughly recommend this workshop, it really helped me to understand my triggers and patterns in relationships and how to make positive changes. Emma and Matthew were both amazing facilitators and they held a safe space for all to feel comfortable to share and be vulnerable. Thank you so much."

Hoffman coaching gives you the space to explore how you're feeling and to work through issues one-to-one using the Hoffman tools. Our facilitators will support you in identifying and developing your strengths, as well as tuning in to your own inner guidance.
Sessions cost £110 and last for an hour. There's no minimum number of sessions. You're welcome to work with any facilitator.
'The facilitator I ended up having sessions with wasn't somebody who I'd met on my Process week, but the sessions were still really useful because they used Hoffman tools that I had already learnt...'
