'Family history is one of the most researched topics on the internet. DNA testing to find our relations and discover who we are is fuelling the fastest-growing area of medical research. As our families and communities become increasingly fractured, it seems the human need to know where we belong intensifies...'

Nearly 20 years ago, (then) journalist Emma Macpherson headed to Florence House to experience the Hoffman Process. Little did she realise how the week's learning would contribute to her research into her remote family's past - and impact on her own future family.

'As far as I was concerned, it was just another course that might improve one’s life for a week or two. It ended up becoming part of my life. Not just in the way it transformed family relationships, or because countless family and friends followed my lead and did the Process after me, but also because now, with my husband Matthew, we run Hoffman Retreats at our home in France and relationship workshops in France and London...'

To find out how the Process reinforced Emma's ancestral research, you can read her story here.

When business CEO and Hoffman graduate Paul Finch was diagnosed with bowel cancer, he was given just a 10% chance of living for another five years.

That was in 2014. Since then Paul's health has gone from strength to strength, a recovery that he credits largely to the expertise of the teams at the Royal Marsden hospital in London. Paul's charity Red Trouser Day now campaigns to promote awareness of bowel cancer. It also supports the work of the Royal Marsden, raising more than £120,000 to date.

On Saturday 19 October , Paul would love your support for his charity's attempt to set a new Guinness World Record . He's hoping that a gathering and (optional) ramble around the Olympic Park in Stratford will be recognised as the UK's largest ever meeting of people wearing red trousers simultaneously. Jeremy Bowen, BBC Middle East Editor and Red Trouser Day Patron is also scheduled to make an appearance at the event .

At the end of seven days, you will be more aware, more awake and so much brighter - and definitely more of the you you were born to be...'

The Q2 is a three-day residential course that takes place in Process venues and provides the perfect space to reconnect with your Hoffman experience.

You can choose to do the Q2 with partners, family, Hoffman buddies or friends as long as they are Hoffman graduates as well, and work on any new issues that are coming up in your life today.

There’s no limit to the amount of Q2s you attend, although generally we’d advise you to wait at least three months after your Process before attending your first Q2.

Our last Q2 of 2019 takes place at Florence House, where
double, twin and triple accommodation is available (on a first-come, first-served basis).

'Q2 really helped me let go of things that I didn't realise I was still holding onto... negative things that didn't need to hold me back any more.' 2019 Q2 attendee

Venue: Florence House, East Sussex
Cost: £695, including meals and accommodation

Locations with upcoming events include Birmingham (tonight!), Petersfield, Burley in Hants, Parson's Green in London and a very welcoming café in Cape Town (pictured).

September's top tip: extend your stretch
Remember when on the Process, you made a commitment to do something unfamiliar, uncomfortable, different or even highly challenging?

How about doing more things like that?

If you want to experience change, you will need to behave differently. So today, think about a new behavioural stretch - and give it a go!

It could be something that takes you completely out of your comfort zone, or a small tweak to a task that's become routine. How far are you prepared to challenge yourself?
