Thank you to journalist, PR supremo and Hoffman gradaute Lisa Byrne for mentioning the Hoffman Process in the August 2023 issue of Good Housekeeping.
Then a relative recommended The Hoffman Process, which I went through last September.
This is a seven-day residential course established more than 50 years ago by Bob Hoffman. It involves an intensive week with no outside contact, where you focus solely on why you behave the way you do and are taught the tools to help you change your negative patterns. But for me, one of the best experiences was bashing a cushion with a baseball bat for an hour, to exorcise all the inner demons, such as grief and anger.
It proved to be transformational, but it’s not a quick fix. I am still a work in progress and often fall back into old patterns of not wanting to get out of bed, but the dark thoughts that once threatened to consume me have lifted.
When I think I am going down a negative path, the Hoffman tools have helped me to break the cycle. And simply practising gratitude has also been hugely beneficial.
