We'd like to thank Hoffman graduate Elaine Kingett for mentioning Hoffman as part of a feature about bereavement, grief and loss in The Times last weekend. You can read the article in full here and a short extract below:
'Woman & Home asked me to write a feature about whether you could buy self-esteem by going on a course. I was obviously a prime candidate and the Hoffman Process, a six-night £3,700 residential retreat that aims to equip you with the tools to not repeat the negative patterns of behaviour inherited from your parents, seemed to fit the bill. The course took place in a upmarket country house with beautiful grounds near enough to home (in case it seriously kicked off). There was good food and it had been recommended by some celebs that I admired.
Off I trotted, unaware of the full implications of what was involved and, once again, using work as an excuse to avoid reality. But it saved my life. By encouraging me to show my true self and be honest about my whole life experience, without the aid of alcohol or make-up and still feel liked and accepted, it reaffirmed my faith in myself as a worthy human; the kids were terrified by the thought of who I would be on my return but amazed at my transformation into this calm creature. And it lasted, I did call time on my excesses and realised that maybe, I was worth saving...'
