As far back as I can remember, I’ve always told heroic versions of my life to myself and others. My adoption is a classic example. I was chosen. I was special. Looking back now, I see that as a combination of shiny veneer – designed to look and feel good – and solid armour, to protect me from being hurt.

I came away from the Process feeling lighter and more alive. For a while, I was very sensitive to every thought or behaviour; my mind attuned to even the most subtle experiences. It took a while to realise that this is what a life without veneer and armour is like. This is what it feels like to be vulnerable.

On the last day, we were encouraged to talk about the future. The main thrust of the conversation was about the intentions and commitments we were prepared to make to support our ongoing healing. In among this, I found myself promising to find a way to help other adopted people. At the time, I wasn’t sure how I was going to do this; I simply knew it was what I was meant to do...'

We were pleasantly surprised to be contacted by the Daily Mail last month, to let us know that we'd been referred to as 'the venerable grandparent of all emotional healing retreats' in a recent wellbeing spread.

'The wellness world is changing. Post-pandemic, we’re looking for far more than a fasting regime and the odd yoga class when we go to a spa or retreat. Many of us are crying out for an ‘emotional overhaul’ too.

Spas and hotels all over the world are scrambling to offer packages that tackle your psyche as well as your cellulite. You could choose stylish spirituality in Spain or Italy. But here in the UK we already have a solid tranche of retreats that are the antithesis of fluffy towels and endless smoothies. These are programmes that pack a hefty therapeutic punch..'

Thank you to journalist Jane Alexander for including us in her feature. You can read it on the Mail Online website here.

All are welcome to join our Introduction to Hoffman Zoom sessions, led by Hoffman Managing Director Serena Gordon and members of the UK enrolment team.

These informal intros offer the chance to find out more about the Hoffman principles, the seven-day Hoffman Process, and the other online courses that we offer. If you've got any questions about what happens on the Process, The Hoffman Essentials, or our other workshops, you can ask them in person or use Zoom's chat box to remain anonymous.

The calls are weekly, on either a Wednesday afternoon at 4.00pm, or Tuesday evening at 7.30pm (UK).

To register, simply email info@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk and we'll send you full instructions and the Zoom meeting ID.
If you're interested in signing up to a Hoffman Process later in the year, our friendly enrolment team is available on the phone or via email, and happy to answer any questions you might have.

A one-to-one assessment call gives you time to discuss what happens on the course in detail, and also to decide whether it's right for you. If you do then go on to register, you're already a step ahead! The calls are completely confidential, and you don't need to have registered for a course to book an appointment.

Call us on 01903 88 99 90 or email enrolment@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk and we'll take it from there.
There are only a handful of Hoffman Process spaces at Florence House left for 2021, but Wait List spaces do still become available too, especially for people who are able to attend at short notice. Dates and availability are regularly updated on our website here.

We have reduced the number of places on each course to 18 participants, allowing for appropriate social distancing and single accommodation for all attendees. There have been some practical modifications made to the course logistics to ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to; other than that, the Hoffman Process content remains the same.
