Hoffman UK newsletter | August 2025

The day I stopped running, by Emma White

'Burnout. We hear the word all the time—thrown around on social media like a badge of honour. Accompanied, of course, by the endless advice on how to prevent it. Sleep more. Exercise more, but not too much. Don’t work too hard. Don’t love too hard. Meditate. Heal your inner child. Fix your attachment style. Chase your purpose. Manifest the life you want. Be gentle, but not lazy. Hustle, but be grounded. Protein, but not the wrong type. Be successful, be spiritual, be safe, and embody your divine feminine. It’s relentless.

And yet, underneath it all, most of us are just trying to get through the day. Keep things afloat. Show up for our work, our families, our relationships. We want to feel okay. To feel seen. Loved. Safe.

For me, the Hoffman Process wasn’t a sudden epiphany—it was the natural next step after 15 years of running. Running from my emotions. Running across cities and continents. Running from love.

I went into the Process believing I was unlovable. I left knowing that wasn’t true.'

If you've read Emma's article and have questions about the Process, we'd be really happy to answer them.

Namaste Cally! New book and tour dates from Hoffman grad

Cally Beaton is a comedian, podcaster, writer and entrepreneur who has held senior management positions at some of the biggest media companies in the world. She first took to the stage as a 45-year-old single parent, and made her debut comedy appearance on the BBC’s Live at the Apollo at the age of 53, cementing her as one of the most exciting stand-ups in the UK.

Cally launched her hit podcast Namaste Motherf*ckers in 2021 with a star-studded roster of guests including: Paloma Faith, Sir Grayson Perry, Deborah Meaden, Reverend Richard Coles - and Hoffman MD Serena Gordon :)

Her new book Namaste Motherf*ckers was released this week. It tells the author's own story of radical midlife reinvention, as well as what it means to be a middle-aged woman who is willing to take a chance, put herself out there and be prepared to fail. We wish Cally every success with the book (not just because we get a mention!) and with her ongoing national tour..

I don't think there's anything more important actually than realising the fullest potential of your own life... Lately the thing I keep hearing about is the Hoffman Process, and I try to pay attention to the signs when it keeps coming up. So I thought it was worthwhile to learn more about it and to share it with you because it seems to be a thing that lots of people are talking about' ~ Oprah
