'I've finally found what I'm looking for' by pilot Bruce Crawford
|
|
|
Like many people, Bruce Crawford came to the Hoffman Process knowing that 'something' was missing in his life, but not entirely sure what. As he tells his full
Process Story
on our website, Bruce reveals how uncovering an old passion became key to identifying a new way to move forward.
'I left the Hoffman Process full of optimism, hope, and a new sense of vigour. I’d spent a week coming to understand more about why I am the way I am, why I feel in the ways I do, and how to read and harness the power of my feelings.
I’d come on the course because I’d reached a stage in my life where I realised that change was necessary. Now I had ideas and tools that would help me make those changes...
The Process doesn’t claim to be the last word in fixing yourself. For me, it has been the start, the turning point, a chance to redraw the map and make new choices.'

Hoffman grad Ben launches new 'Naked Professors' podcast
|
|
|
Coach, writer and public speaker Ben Bidwell is best known as
The Naked Professor
on
Instagram
and through his
blog
, where his work in 'stripping the masks of masculinity' and normalising discussion about mental health is building him a growing and enthusiastic following.
Ben's latest venture is a regular podcast with TV presenter Matt Johnson. Their combined work as
The Naked Professors
only launched last month, but their first interview with
Davina McCall
saw the pair catapulted to the top of the health podcast charts.
Ben says,
'I hope that through our podcast conversations we strip away the masks and unveil a truth not heard every day. These are the types of vulnerable chats that show the true reality of how people really feel behind the whites of their eyes. Despite how lives can be perceived as shiny and perfect, these conversations are about how people really feel. We are all human, we all face challenges.'
We're delighted to watch Ben's vision becoming a growing reality, and are looking forward to sharing some exciting Naked Professor news of own own in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, you can subscribe to Ben and Matt's podcasts on iTunes

Singing in the Rain, with Hoffman grad Rachel Kelly
|
|
|
Rachel Kelly
is a bestselling writer, public speaker and mental health campaigner. She writes regularly for the press and is an ambassador for several mental health charities. Rachel is also the author of
five books
covering her experience of depression and recovery and highlighting the steps she took to help her own wellbeing, from
poetry
to
nutrition
.
Rachel's new illustrated book,
Singing in the Rain,
has fifty-two activities - one for each week of the year - intended to help readers rediscover their creativity and build a new sense of purpose. It's released in the UK on January 10.
Rachel says,‘
Singing in the Rain is all about stuff you can do to feel calm and content. Self-reflection has its place, but the awareness it brings needs to move us into positive mindful action. That was one of the things I loved about Hoffman: being shown how that cycle works so we moved through feelings and into ‘doing’ with awareness and without getting stuck.’

Doing the Hoffman Process for a second time
|
|
|
A question that we've been asked a lot recently is 'Can you do the Hoffman Process more than once?' The answer is
yes!
Each year, many people around the world re-do the Process and find it to be a rewarding, effective and intensely satisfying experience. Hoffman UK is happy to accept registrations from people who have done the Process either here or at another Institute and would like to undertake it for a second time.
You’ll be taken through the enrolment process just as if you were a new participant. We’ll discuss with you the reasons why you want to do the Process again, check whether the timing is right for you, and ask you to fully complete our pre-course work as before.
Attendance on each Process for graduates is limited to one or two applications per month, and we ask that you leave a minimum five-year gap between your first Process and your second. Apart from that, there are no limits...

Hot off the presses: Hoffman magazine 2019
|
|
|
We're proud to announce the imminent arrival of this year's
Hoffman magazine;
fifty-two pages of interviews, stories, features and more.
A print copy of the magazine will be sent automatically to all Hoffman grads resident in the UK, providing that you did the Process in the past three years (2016-2018). Copies should be dropping on doormats around 11 January, and will be available to read online shortly afterwards.
If you've changed postal address since you did the Process, would like to be sent extra copies or did your Process before 2016 and would like to be sent a magazine, then please let us know by emailing
info@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk.
If you live overseas, there's no charge for the magazine, but we do ask you to pay for postage. You can do this on our website,
here.
We'd like to thank each and every person who contributed to this year's publication (and there are definitely more of your inspirational grad stories in this issue than ever before). A special mention should also go out to artist and Hoffman grad
Ramona Galardi
for allowing us to use her work
L'Ouverture
as our 2019 cover.

January's top tip: give yourself the gift of time
|
|
|
Tonight, how about going to bed early and setting your alarm clock for an hour earlier than usual?
When you wake up, try to spend those extra sixty minutes doing something you love: drawing, reading, bathing, cleaning, eating, walking, meditating or whatever gives you pleasure.
Treat yourself to the gift of a hour that's just for you. You're worth it.
