'My adoptive parents did their best, but I knew there was always a ‘what if’. What if I’d been kept by my birth mother? Would I be different? I’d always been told she was a young unmarried mother in the 1960s when there was no benefit system to provide a safety net, and that she had no choice. But, whatever the circumstances, there was always a sense of rejection.

I felt I’d made peace with it. I also felt I’d made peace with the difficult relationship I’d had with my adoptive mother. I wasn’t the daughter she wanted, and she wasn’t the mother I wanted. I never felt I was good enough for her and clearly not for my birth mother either – or she would’ve kept me, wouldn’t she? The reality was that I never really felt ‘good enough’. I felt second best, unworthy, and that I didn’t really fit in anywhere.

The fear of being given away again meant that I was desperate to fit in, so I learned behaviours that would gain approval. What got lost was the real, authentic me – and that’s where Hoffman came in...'

Jay Shetty's podcast On Purpose was rated Forbes number one health podcast in the world for 2020. In his most recent episode, the author, life coach and former monk interviews media executive Scooter Braun, and their conversation turns to Hoffman.

Scooter is best known for managing global megastars like Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber - so to hear him describe the Process as 'cool' definitely made our day; 'It was the greatest gift I ever gave myself.. I've really had a shift in my life, and I couldn't be more grateful. It was a very cool thing...'

Scooter also shares the impact that the Process has had on his relationships, self-forgiveness, work and parenting; 'I am present with my children in a way that I didn't know was possible before, and I think that's the greatest thing Hoffman gave me...' Wonderful stuff, and THAT'S what we call cool.

A huge thank you to Harley St dermatologist, founder of Dr Sam's skincare and Hoffman graduate, Dr Sam Bunting for giving us a shoutout on her online platforms last week in a both a video and blog recommending self-care techniques for the inside and out:

'I think that the phrase 'happiness is an inside game' is utterly true. As I’ve diversified my work and gotten busier, I’ve found my natural tendency to overthink, become anxious and ultimately give myself a hard time has increased exponentially. So in the last year I’ve tried lots of different approaches to see if I could rewire my brain. Knowing what we now know about neuroplasticity. I’ve attended the Hoffman Process which I’d wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to get unstuck in their lives...'

We'd also like to say thank you to journalist Emma Newlands for a wonderful review of The Hoffman Essentials in The Scotsman last month. Here's a snippet;

'The course is refreshingly different to and more practical, physical and – crucially – 'fast-acting' than other therapy I’ve had, and also feels pretty good value for two full and productive days, while definitely piquing my interest in doing the full Process.

I end each day feeling lighter and freer, rather than drained and fragile. However, the biggest epiphany comes a few days after the course when I suddenly realise something is missing from my thoughts – the constant chatter of my inner critic has been well and truly silenced. It’s a revelation.

Hoffman aims to help you become you 'on a really good hair day' – and it can add me to its list of enthusiastic converts.'

'The Hoffman Essentials experience online is a revelation. This is a truly immersive process - don't let the online platform fool you into thinking it is a passive webinar! If you truly make yourself available to this, it will offer you the opportunity to experience transformation in your life. Yes, it's THAT good...' J, November 2020 attendee

Our Living with the Enneagram evenings are led by Hoffman UK founder Tim Laurence. Each groups three of the nine Enneagram Types by a common thread - their reactivity, their positivity, or their competence -and explores the impact of their differing points of view and communication styles. This time round, Tim will focus on The Competent Types: Types 1,3 and 5.

No prior knowledge of the Enneagram is needed to attend. Whatever your Type, knowing yourself and understanding others will give far clearer communication, as well as an increased intimacy with those closest to you. If you’ve ever thought: “I just don’t get why people don’t behave reasonably like me’ or ‘I feel like such a misfit’, the evening will provide a load more answers.

Times: 7.30pm - 9.00pm (UK time)
Cost: £15, including a post-workshop audio recording

If you do then go on to register, you're already a step ahead! The calls are completely confidential, and you don't need to have registered for a course to book an appointment.

We've just finished our third socially-distanced Process of 2021 and we're delighted to be able to deliver Bob Hoffman's wonderful work in person again.

We have reduced the number of places on each course to 18 participants, allowing for appropriate social distancing and single accommodation for all attendees. There have been some practical modifications made to the course logistics to ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to; other than that, the Hoffman Process content remains the same. Our courses are filling up fast, so early registration is advised.
