Dare to share: with children's author Jo Yaldren
Jo Yaldren left the Hoffman Process with a new life vision, but was then greeted with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease that threatened to derail it.

In this month's Process Story , J o writes about how finding a positive outlook and facing up to change mean she’s now on the cusp of realising a long-held dream - and how daring to share led to an unexpected gift...

'The signs of the disease were already there while I was at Florence House... I‘m ashamed to say that despite 26 years of nursing (and university nursing teaching), I didn’t join the dots.
Without Hoffman, I don’t know how I would have coped. My husband had also done the Process, so we were lucky to have a shared language and experience to help us avoid imploding, exploding or numbing ourselves from this uninvited guest...'

'A fascinating experience...' GQ's Dylan Jones in the Observer
British GQ editor Dylan Jones did the Process in 2017, and left 'with 'no intention of ever writing about Hoffman'.

We were hugely grateful when he later changed his mind and published an extraordinary feature in GQ about his experience. We're also grateful that Dylan continues to recommend Hoffman in the press, most recently in a Guardian/Observer This Much I Know interview;

'Doing the Hoffman Process last year was a fascinating experience that I would recommend to anyone going through a period of uncertainty.'

In the Q&A, Dylan - who is also chairman of the Hay Foundation Trust and menswear chairman of the British Fashion Council - talks candidly about the male response to #MeToo, embracing getting older and violence at the hands of his father as a child. We thank him for sharing his experience.

Help Me! New book by Marianne Power serialised in Daily Mail
Hoffman grad Marianne Power is no stranger to writing about soul-searching, or about Hoffman - her 2015 Red Magazine article about finding self-love on the Process is a fantastic read.

Marianne's latest book, Help Me! One Woman’s Quest To Find Out If Self-Help Really Can Change Her Life is due to be published by Picador on September 6. Written in her distinctively funny and irreverent style, the book follows the good, the bad and the ugly of Marianne's self-help journey over the course of a year as she works her way through a range of personal development experiences - including Hoffman, which she says changed her life ' more than anything else I've done.'

Selected extracts from Marianne's book have been serialised in the Daily Mail in the build-up to its launch. We particularly enjoyed this one : Can you REALLY help yourself to love..?

September's Top Tip: We were all young once...
This month, try connecting to any teenagers in your life.

Remember what your own teenage years were like; what it felt like for your body to develop and how that was greeted by the world. How close to or distant from others you were. How life was at school and at home.

What mattered to you at the time? Where did you feel misunderstood?

Take a few moments to reflect on the world young people are now growing up in and how that might feel for them. If you have any young adults in your life, speak to them. See if you can be more empathic to their experience.
